Acupuncture (with E-stim)
Watch as one of our therapists treats an individual with lateral knee pain. Electric-stimulation (E-stim) takes 10-15 minutes and can increase the benefits of acupuncture treatments.
The stimulation will cause a slight tingling sensation, and will often cause a slight contraction of the muscle as seen here. The added stimulation will help to correct muscle and nerve dysfunction making it useful as a therapy for joint pain, muscle spasm, sciatica, neck and low back pain.

Flexion Distraction Technique
Flexion distraction is a low force technique that is used as an alternative to traditional chiropractic adjusting helping to promote proper joint and muscle mechanics.
Using a specialized table, our therapists create a negative pressure within the spine to draw in protruding disc material and relieve pressure on surrounding structures such as spinal nerves. Flexion Distraction can be used to treat many conditions of the lumbar spine including disc herniations and bulges, sciatica, nerve pain, low back pain and muscle stiffness.

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) Technique
Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization is a soft tissue technique that utilizes a stainless steel tool to break down fascial restrictions and scar tissues in individuals diagnosed with soft tissue dysfunction.
Conditions that benefit from this technique include:
• Tendonitis (such as tennis elbow, or Achilles tendonitis)
• Plantar Fascitis
• Muscle tightness and inadequate ROM

Spinal Decompression Therapy
Spinal Decompression is a form of therapy through the use of a specialized table and works great for disc herniations, lower back arthritis, and low back pain.
As you lay comfortably in place, you will begin to feel the tension build up by the pulley system. The decompression unit will slowly increase the tension in the machine until it reaches the desired amount of pressure. The unit will then alternate between periods of peak tension to periods of rest – which are roughly half of the peak tension.

Using an individually wrapped and sterilized needle, the therapist will palpate precise areas to insert a needle.
The number of needles used per treatment will vary depending on the treatment location. Treatment lengths last anywhere from 10-15 minutes.
Acupuncture is a great alternative therapy for joint pain, headaches, muscle spasm or dysfunction.

Muscle Release Technique (MRT)
Muscle release technique is a type of soft tissue therapy that helps relieve tight muscles and improve muscle function by greatly reducing joint stress and muscular pains.
Here the piriformis muscle is being pinned and stretched as the patient brings her knee up and down towards the floor.
